I couldn’t welcome 2026 with so much light and grace without everything that happened in 2025.
Well, this year 2025 has been totally incredible, and I’m feeling blessed in so many ways.

Of course, the tragic loss of my dad in September was really hard, but I can’t be more grateful for spending the last months of his life with him and with my family. Making the decision to leave New Caledonia and go back to my parents in France, was certainly wise and joyful.

If you follow me on social media, you’re already aware of some of the accomplishments I’m going to describe below, but some of them were kept private – I still believe that being low-key is part of my success, I’m not here to impress but to lead by example by making my dreams come true.

  • Rebranding –  Blog About L. became My Epic Self-Love
And the French website doesn’t exist anymore, you are redirected automatically to myepicselflove.com, which isn’t an issue as you all have translated content with your browser anyway.

It was time to evolve after 7 years, and my website isn’t so much a blog now + my notoriety is growing as an author, speaker and coach, and I needed a stronger name.

I’ve always provided a free access to my many articles, and my entire website is ad-free, and I intend to keep it that way – which means that your financial support is always welcome!   • Author – My Solo Wedding in Santorini: Or How I Saved My Life
Yes, I definitely felt like an author this year – a book tour in California with multiple events + I met the singer Seal randomly and I was able to give him my book! Such an incredible moment, he’s such a beautiful soul!!
Thank you to my fairy Godmothers, Lisa Garr and Gina Salvati for their love and support!

Two book signings in Seoul! Last-minute thing while I was there because people were so interested by my book.

  • Self-Love Coach
I couldn’t be more excited to coach so many beautiful souls. It was a challenge I have to say, I learnt a lot from it, and I keep learning as I’m helping more and more people to transform and live their dream life.

  • Screenwriter
The most unexpected turn of my life and what brings me the most excitement. I ended up writing my first script in 2023 by accident, listening to the Divine.

Finalist of multiple International Screenplay competitions in 2024 and 2025, including being the only female finalist (TV category) at the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards, which interviewed me, you can read it here: LINK

I didn’t know I had this talent, and I was even more surprised to see how much I loved screenwriting!

Remi Adeleke, Hollywood actor and filmmaker, my friend and mentor, taught me everything I know, and having his support in this industry is a true blessing.

So of course, miracles keep happening for me and in November, I had a meeting with the Seoul Film Commission for one of my projects, and the day before I even met my favorite Korean actor Kim Jae-Uck!!! (I’d love to work with him one day.)

I mean I can’t even describe my emotions; it is insane!!

  • Singer Songwriter – Recording Artist
Woww!!!! Probably my biggest joy and pride this year!

I was 14 when I wrote my first song (music & lyrics), it took lots of delays, detours and fears but 30+ years later, I recorded my first single (and more) in studio, in Ojai, California.
This wouldn’t have been possible without my incredible and loving coaches and producers, the Brothers Koren. Three years we’ve been working together, and serendipity is what defines the most this incredible journey together.
+ I am officially registered in the US as a songwriter, this is beyond any of my expectations, you know as a little French girl who grew up in the Alps, my dad was a fireman and my mom a cleaner, how is it even possible?!?
​
And with great emotion I announce that my first single will be released on Feb 17th, 2026!!
Don’t worry, you will receive plenty of info in the next couple of weeks to pre-save and pre-order. 
  • Travels
When I started the year 2025, I didn’t have a list of the trips I wanted to do, but my theme was “Harmonious Freedom” and my mantra “Time to fly”.
Well, I wasn’t expecting to travel around the world – literally, and in 8 different countries: New Caledonia (obviously), California (twice), Hawaii, Sydney, Milan (twice), Disneyland Paris, the French Alps, Malta, Geneva Switzerland, and Seoul South Korea!
Except for one, all of them have been planned at the last minute following my intuition and my dreams. And I can tell you that they all unlocked so many new dreams and opportunities.

  • Community
I received so much love and support from my different communities, mentors, and you!
+ I’ve met so many new fantastic people this year, it’s priceless!
You’re giving me the inspiration to dream bigger and to expand my horizons.
  • Seoul, South Korea
Many of you know that I spent a full month in Seoul, but you probably don’t know that a few weeks before I flew there, I obtained my first certificate in Korean Language from Yonsei University – one of the best South Korean Universities and in the world. Again, at the beginning of 2025, I had no clue I was going to learn Korean, or visit this country, yet somehow, I felt guided to do both. I still don’t know the full reason behind it, even if I have some clues. Now, let’s be clear I’m not fluent yet, and I barely spoke Korean when I was there, I used English, but I’m committed and I keep learning every day. And yes, I’m also planning to go back to Seoul in 2026, and probably for good!!
 
This year 2025 really pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I discovered some deep courage I didn’t know I had. I tried so many new things like pottery, I took healing to another level, I released old patterns, and I was back to photography which I missed a lot as the previous year I did more videos.
I can say that I did step up during this year!

If you have been following me for a long time on my blog or Instagram, you know that every year in January I prepare a vision board and I put on it my intentions, emotions, goals that I want to have for the year.

Well in 2024, I added Lisa Garr's photo because I wanted to be able to meet her and work with her.

After a dramatic mountain bike accident during a race, her brain was seriously damaged and Lisa lost the use of speech. Already very aware of the power of the mind and body, she surrounded herself with the best neurologists but especially personal development coaches.

And while the doctors told her that she would never regain all the functions of her brain, she proved them wrong, rebuilt her brain by the power of her mind and became a Media queen  to encourage people to grow and transform themselves.

For more than 20 years now, she has presented multiple TV shows, radios, podcasts and notably The Aware Show.

And she interviewed me for her show – Rising Stars!
It’s a huge honor to be part of it and to be listened to by her community.
I encourage you to watch, Lisa is full of fascinating questions:

Being able to talk about my Solo Wedding in Santorini and everything that comes from it – my book in English and French.

But also my self-love coaching sessions that I started in October, I am delighted to be able to share my expertise in this field and above all I am overwhelmed by the reaction of the participants who are already experiencing changes in their lives.

July, the month of all celebrations with first my birthday on July 1st!!

You know how much I love to celebrate it, and this year being very special (with a disrupted daily life here in Noumea), it was even more important for me.

I was pampered and very spoiled, including a day in a luxury spa – thank you to my family. You know that spas are my passion. Nothing better to stay young and relaxed.

So much magnificent energy at this time, it’s as if the Universe was giving me an injection of happiness directly into my heart!

And 4 candles for 44 years old…

While talking with a friend recently who is fulfilling many dreams, I understood that this was my quiet time, and as I am very spiritual, I know that this rest is necessary for me.

When I think of just these last 2 years, what an adventure, I have been very busy.

I must say that I respect my wedding vows to the letter –
“I promise myself to continue to do nothing like everybody because everyone is unique.
I promise myself to always set the bar higher in everything I undertake because the important thing is not to achieve goals but to give yourself the means to achieve them.
I promise myself to enjoy each moment as if it were the last, to shake up the codes and to create opportunities because time is an eternal present.”
 
2022, the publication of my book in 2 languages! Two years of anniversary already!!
With the cherry on the cake, a finalist of the Wishing Shelf Book Awards and its representation at the London Book Fair in 2023.

Publishing a book was already incredible, but seeing it so well received by readers and being recognised by my peers, I couldn’t have dreamed of it.

 
Last year I was in Spain, Madrid my beloved city – la quiero muchísimo.

I took on an incredible challenge, it took me the whole year to write a screenplay from scratch.
Zero skills, zero tools, zero idea of ​​how to do it, but this feeling in my gut that I had to do it (like for my solo wedding, the blog or my book).

And there again a most unexpected surprise: quarter finalist of the Los Angeles Screenplay Awards.
I daydream!!
 
My sister is used to telling people that I can do anything, that it's annoying but you get used to it hahaha

Certainly, I owe it to one of my teachers, who one day told my parents when I was 6, that I will succeed in everything I undertake!

I have known and I know many failures but that doesn’t stop me from continuing, that is my strength and above all I believe that the impossible doesn’t exist.
Add to that my faith and everything becomes possible with patience and devotion…

And then 2024 which started strong with my moving in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and the writing of my first music album which will be recorded in studio!
And yes, this was planned for May in California, but God had other plans, I accept it and I know that it will happen at the perfect time. My musical family is ready to welcome me as soon as I can.

The month of May was also my 7th wedding anniversary that I went to celebrate on an island not far from here (islands are really my thing).
So incredible to think of all the strength, joy and inspiration that this event - my Solo Wedding in Santorini - has caused in my life, but also in the lives of others, yours included.
I am more than grateful.

I can't forget all the people who accompany me in these crazy projects, each one more incredible than the last, they have become my family.

Being married to myself has given me more joy than I could have hoped for, I am more surrounded than ever, I am BETTER surrounded than ever!

I realise how alive I feel writing these few paragraphs to you, writing is my reason for living. As important as breathing for me.

Let's not forget that I’m also in the process of finalising my 2nd book: After my Solo Wedding in Santorini - or How my Healing Became my Mission.
Another important project for me as you can imagine.

]]><![CDATA[Nouméa - New Life]]>Fri, 10 May 2024 22:00:00 GMThttps://www.myepicselflove.com/my-blog/noumea-new-lifeObviously, I haven't forgotten you, but it's true that going to live on the other side of the world, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, is quite an adventure in itself.

I've been here for four months and believe me I'm not bored.
​
It already took me a good 3 months to settle in, administrative procedures of all kinds, and yes, because although New Caledonia is a French island, I'm starting from scratch!

Which includes a new social security number, a new health insurance, a new bank account, a new phone number, in addition to finding a flat, buying furniture and everything else, and of course trying to get electricity , water and the internet… I say try because in a very procedural and old-fashioned system (physical appointments and original documents), it took forever…

But there you go, everything is slowly falling into place, and I live in a charming place 2 steps from the ocean, the dream!!

Here, I find a lot of my quality of life when I lived in Australia, weather, relaxation, wild nature. Besides, my friends from Australia also came to visit me 😊.

People are relaxed, play sports and enjoy nature a lot.
​
It’s a haven of peace (when there are no riots), I’m delighted to be here.

Then, my sister came to visit me for 6 weeks, therefore we took the opportunity to visit the surrounding islands and swim with turtles, rays and colourful fishes!
​
And taking the boat 30 minutes and finding yourself on deserted or almost deserted islands is truly paradise on earth!!

On the other hand, it only took me a few days to find my favourite places for coffee and cocktails! 😊
​
It is good to maintain some habits…

And I end with the beauty of the sunsets.

You know how much I’m inspired by them and here I am in heaven, alive paintings, so many colour hues…

Every evening is different and special, and even more so depending on the location and viewpoint.

Obviously, I’ll tell you more in future articles, but you already have a nice overview.

As for me, I celebrated it with my family in the Alps, it was perfect. New fabulous memories to add to the already long list!

This year 2023 was once again very rich for me and I praise myself for the challenges I took on, and the many lessons I learned.

The most difficult thing for me this year was a particular writing project which required new skills and a lot of sacrifices, and which I hope to tell you about in 2024!!

I grew way beyond what I expected, and I accepted to overcome many of my fears.
In particular, I’m very proud to have been the guest of 3 Podcasts, with women I admire, I couldn’t dream of better. Sharing my Solo Wedding in Santorini is a mission that I take very seriously.


I received incredible awards too like being a finalist in an English book prize, the Wishing Shelf Book Awards, and having my book represented at the 2023 London Book Fair!

Not to mention amazing Editorial Review and reader reviews that fill me with joy day after day...

This year again I played Santa's elves and offered my book to a street library, hoping to inspire someone.

I should finish writing my 2nd book in 2024, I know some of you are impatiently waiting for it, in fact, me too! Hahaha!!

But everything comes in time and we’ll see what this year has in store for me...

Travel!
How lucky I was this year to visit more magnificent places, I couldn’t create and bloom without these discoveries:It also gave me the chance to take very beautiful photos, which I love to share with you.
 
And then I officially announce that a new chapter of my life is already beginning for me next week, since I move to New Caledonia! A last-minute opportunity that fills me with joy, and I can't wait to share this beautiful island with you.

2024 promises to be an even richer and surprising year with incredible artistic projects, and several of my dreams that will come true, such as the recording of my first single in studio in California!
But I’ll tell you all about this in detail soon.

If you remember, I stopped in Ventura California on the west coast, and from there I was able to reach Los Angeles not far away.

LOS ANGELES

As I’ve already visited this city several times, I had nothing specific in mind, going with the flow, the opportunities, and desires of the moment, and I must say that I’m absolutely delighted, because I thus witnessed privileged moments like the sunset at the Griffith Observatory or a red carpet with Martin Scorsese for his latest film…

I also took the opportunity to relax on Venice beach and get lost in the canals.

I also visited a fire station; you may have noticed in US Trip Part 1 there were already photos of fire trucks. Well for those who don't know, my dad is a retired firefighter, and I grew up in a fire station, so when I travel, I always try to get a few photos...

My stay in Los Angeles also allowed me to see several friends, and I was able to attend the Sunday service at my spiritual center Agape in Beverly Hills, you’ve certainly read the article on it.

I then took the Surfeliner Amtrak train which runs along the ocean to go further south to San Diego.
​
It was my dream to be able to do that and although I wasn't sitting on the right side to take photos/videos, I have wonderful memories of it. Definitely something to experience again!

SAN DIEGO

Lots of things to see in San Diego, and although I stayed there for 3 days, I only got a glimpse of this city.

Whether it's Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre (490 ha) cultural park with gardens, museums and numerous buildings with varied and incredible architecture, or Seaport Village, Little Italy, Gaslamp Quarter, there is something for every mood.

You know how much I love the sea and boats, so the harbor promenade caught my full attention with the Maritime Museum, but also the USS Midway Museum located on the aircraft carrier of the same name.

San Diego is also called the Navy City, because of its impressive military base, one of the largest in the US Navy. Besides, we easily come across uniforms while walking or on public transport, it’s very surprising!

Above all, I appreciated the feeling of sweet life there, which is also reflected in the colors, a real pleasure to photograph this city...

This time, no choice but the plane to get to the incredible American capital.
WASHINGTON DC

My biggest surprise!! And my first time too.
I fell in love with this city, a mix of Paris and London. I actually stayed there longer because I loved it so much.

Among the parks, the monuments, the museums, there’s no way to get bored, and it’s so incredible to be able to see the White House once in your life!
​
But I was mainly going there to see the spectacular Hope Diamond, another dream realized during this trip.
I’ll dedicate a specific article to this diamond but also to this city because it’s a real gem! 😉

And back to NYC with a 5h night bus ride...
NEW YORK

The temperatures have changed, the trees are changing color, we are getting dressed and the Rockefeller ice rink is already in place for the end of year celebrations... Final goodbye.
I promise I’ll come back as soon as I can!!

​You probably noticed in the photos, apart from one rainy day in Washington, I had magnificent weather and I was able to fully enjoy my trip!

Above all, it was an exceptional human adventure.

Happy 37th Anniversary, Agape!!

Agape is the International Spiritual Center created by Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith, and I’ve been a part of this community for 4 years.

If this name is familiar to you, it’s because it’s not the first time I’ve talked about it on this blog (read Meditation again) or on Instagram.

I also made a video in 2021: LINK (+ video at the end of this article).

The magnificent Cynthia James who is one of my mentors and whose Women Awakening podcast I participated in (reread article), is also a member of the Agape community.

If you’ve read my book, you know that Rev. Michael and Agape are mentioned in the acknowledgments.

After My Solo Wedding in Santorini in 2017, and during the healing process, my faith has been very important to me. And I'm not talking about religion here. Agape does not represent any in particular.

For me, it was the light and hope to overcome my past life and become a better version of myself, something I actually promised myself during my solo wedding vows.

I discovered Michael Bernard Beckwith during a personal development program and learned that he was the founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center.
I was immediately attracted to this beautiful community. Little did I know how Reverend Michael's teachings would transform my life.

And because of them, my faith has deepened in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Every week, I participate online in collective meditation and watch the worship service.
So, going in person was a dream, and last month during my trip to the United States, I attended the Agape Sunday service in Beverly Hills, California for the first time.

My way of thanking God and Agape for all the blessings I’ve received over the last 4 years.
Achieving your dreams requires faith but also actions that create opportunities for yourself.
Like pushing doors. Both figuratively and literally. Who knows what awaits you on the other side?

At the beginning of this year, I added the photo of the Saban Theater to my vision board with the intention of making this dream come true. It was time for me to take action, but not only that, because opening the doors to the Universe requires being true to oneself and surrendering to miracles.

There were many miracles that day!!

First, I had the privilege of speaking with Reverend Michael, but also of praying with him and the practitioners, and of being invited to sit in the front rows.

I was already in heaven, but that was not all, STEVIE WONDER was sitting in front of me, and he has even sung!! (Excerpt from his performance below but you can see the whole thing in the service replay HERE).

You should know that many celebrities are part of Agape, such as the family of Martin Luther King Jr., the family of Mohammed Ali, Hilary Swank, Sterling K. Brown etc.

Agape means “love” in Greek, I must say I certainly received a lot of love during my visit!

I didn’t expect to meet so many beautiful souls, thank you to all the people who made this day remain engraved in my memory, in particular the fantastic Josephine, but also Akili Beckwith (the brother of Rev. Michael).

And a big thank you to my lovely friend Nina Grae, who I also met through Agape a few years ago, and who welcomed me into her beautiful home during my stay in Los Angeles.

Without a doubt, it was an incredible adventure mixed with many challenges (canceled/postponed flights, delays, change of plan, destination, accommodation, etc.) but outweighed by incredible miracles.

Obviously, some of these places/experiences will be the subject of more specific articles, but for the moment, I’ll only share my itinerary.

NEW YORK CITY
If you’ve followed me for a long time, you know that this is not my first time in this city.

3 hours of time difference with France, and 3 days to adapt as best I can, fortunately Central Park is my precious refuge after the tumult of the city, shopping and museums.

SAN FRANCISCO (CA)
6 hours by plane, therefore the equivalent of France-NYC - 16 hours by plane already for me in 4 days - and let’s add 3 more hours of time difference.

The excitement keeps me awake!

I love San Francisco, the last time I was there was 10 years ago, so I was more than happy to spend 2 days here, especially since completely by chance, The Blue Angels (Flight Demonstration Squadron from the US Navy)  were giving a show!
SANTA CRUZ (CA)
Having lived in Brisbane, Australia, for 7 years, I really missed the beach, the surfers, and its very special atmosphere, not to mention the Pacific Ocean.

So going down the entire west coast, from San Francisco to San Diego was on the agenda, and all by public transport (train and bus)! Believe me, I’ve developed new travel skills.

First stop: Santa Cruz, the town of Jack O’Neill, the inventor of the surf shop.

PISMO BEACH (CA)
I liked this place so much that I stayed there longer.

It’s been a long time since I felt this inspired as a photographer, I think the last time was when I was living in Crete (2018-2019).

Landscapes like in Australia, fine sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, varied and numerous wildlife.

A place where I landed by chance and certainly a great discovery…

VENTURA (CA)
A very large city with different atmospheres depending on the location.
It feels like you're traveling in just a few minutes, it's very surprising and I really liked it.

A very well-maintained historic pedestrian area with its amazing shops, the wild beach and the surfers’ beach…

Definitely a place I could see myself living…

OJAI (CA)

So charming! It reminded me so much of certain areas of Brisbane (Australia).

A small town of hippie chic artists. Music everywhere, cute restaurants, a large park… We feel that the word community has meaning here.

To tell the truth, we don't really know where we are anymore when we enter this city...
I loved it!!

I was recently invited to Mari’s podcast, The Lighthouse Podcast.

In her mission to help people find well-being, Mari created this podcast this year to be able to share the stories of people who overcame unexpected fates, and thus illuminate this world with a glimmer of hope.

Obviously, this message speaks to me a lot, that's the same reason why I created this blog and wrote my book “My Solo Wedding in Santorini”. So, I was honoured to be her guest.

A simple and honest discussion enriched with the life lessons I learnt after my fiancé broke off our engagement, and after marrying myself.

I encourage you to watch this episode – but also all the others!

But back to Mari and the reasons behind the podcast idea.

Life and well-being coach, she was born and raised in Romania under the communist regime.
She married very young and went to live in her husband's country, Cyprus. Housewife and then mother, she learnt Greek and devoted herself to her son.
But in an abusive marriage , she had the courage to leave and rebuild herself, she resumed her studies and became an accountant for a large firm.

However, she knew that her potential lay elsewhere, so she moved to London, became a fitness coach and created Bodysome.

However, life had not finished testing her and in 2019, she was discovered with a brain tumour. Three operations followed over a period of one year, during the COVID pandemic!

Mari is much more than a survivor, she’s the very embodiment of resilience and “surrendering” - a notion that she’s particularly fond of.

Drawing on her experience, she published her autobiography “The Wisdom of a Willow Tree” in 2022.

I met Mari in 2020 on Instagram, just before she had her 3rd brain surgery.
Our friendship was immediate. Love at first sight!

I believe we know each other from a previous life.

I went to visit her last year in London, not only did I have a wonderful time with her, but I also met her family, all incredibly kind and caring.

Above all, I was able to see and touch this willow tree, which inspired the title of her book…

Since my Solo Wedding in Santorini, I keep saying that I meet extraordinary people, Mari is certainly one of them!

She has been unfailingly supportive in the publication of my book and inviting me to her podcast, once again shows her incredible generosity and kindness.

]]><![CDATA[Coaches of the Spanish Royal Family]]>Sat, 26 Aug 2023 15:30:55 GMThttps://www.myepicselflove.com/my-blog/coaches-of-the-spanish-royal-familyWhile in France we’ve just suffered a big heat wave, I say suffer because it was very difficult to sleep and work from home without air conditioning and fan - besides my American friends don’t understand that we don’t have air conditioning here.

In these cases, nothing better than going to visit museums and precisely that reminded me of this exhibition that I did while it was 40°C in Madrid!

Last month I spent time once again in Madrid, a city that you know has been dear to me since 2018, since I had lived in this capital for the freezing of my eggs.

It's one of the few cities where I feel at home, and there's nothing rational about it, it's just the way I meet the people there, the way I move around in this city, or how I always discover secret passages and incredible places. I don't know, I feel attached and connected to everything in a very deep way.

This time, I'm taking you to the Royal Collections Gallery, a new museum in the Spanish capital which opened its doors this summer.

And after my Barbie article, talking about princess carriages seems very appropriate!

Remember my article on the Royal Mews of London, I know you enjoyed the wonderful photos and this time again you’ll be amazed.

"In motion" is the name of this temporary exhibition which presents coaches and vehicles from Spain's national heritage.

The royal family has always had a great need for means of transport to get around, including after 1561, when King Philip II settled the court permanently in Madrid, since he liked to hunt and enjoy the many other palaces in the Kingdom. 
Obviously, everyone followed him on his travels, which required a lot of logistics and vehicles.

Thus, the evolution of these means of transport was in line with the needs of these kings and French craftsmen were among those most in demand. They are also the ones who invented the Berlin carriage, with 2 supporting axles allowing better stability and comfort.

​The example below dates from 1790-1800 & 1799.

Obviously, faced with the strong demand from the monarchs of the time, the Spaniards also specialised in the field.

It must also be said that in the 16th and 17th century, the kingdoms were very extensive, the monarchs had to move frequently and over long distances to be able to rule and meet their subjects.
​
It was also a way to show off their power and wealth, which played a major political role at that time.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, many technical innovations, particularly from England, improved safety and comfort.
​
And always this taste for detail and refinement...

Another form of transport, the ancestor of the convertible with a sunroof, mainly used for walking in parks on sunny days: the Landau.

But the interiors competed just as much in luxury and precious materials.
Many professions had to be invented to create these magnificent carriages, creating many jobs and thus contributing to the economy of the countries.

Not to mention all the other associated craftsmanship and jobs...

Litter, Sedan chair, sleigh, baby carriage, many invented vehicles, especially for people who couldn’t ride a horse such as women and children or to move more easily in town or on snow.

Art is a fabulous testimony to history and here to the different means of transport through time.

I am a girl who loves pink and Barbie! I even grew up as a Barbie Club member, I wore clothes with her effigy like some little girls today display Queen Elsa. A school friend gave me my first doll at the age of 6, for my birthday, and not just anyone, Barbie Dream glow, whose stars on her dress shine in the dark. One of my best memories. It was as if today, someone offered me Louboutin pumps!
Nowadays, we find a Barbie astronaut, veterinarian, to counter the sexist side that some people found to these dolls. Very honestly it is a false debate, because from all my 6 years of age, I had perfectly converted my Princess Barbie into a successful businesswoman!

My Barbie was never a writer, even less a blogger, I built a career plan with her and I held it, but dreams change, that is all the beauty and magic that Eleonor Roosevelt mentioned. And of course, I took my book “My Solo Wedding in Santorini” to watch the Barbie movie.

We loved the absolutely incredible sets, the very current story and also which reminded me very well of my emotional bond with her.

All the actresses and actors are perfect and Margot Robbie is FANTASTIC, we couldn’t have hoped for better to embody our favorite doll!

And then, the outfits… I still dream about them! Especially since several of my Barbie are represented in the film.

Yes, it’s been a year already!
So amazing and fascinating.

I have widely shared about it on this blog during this adventure.
It was definitely a journey which continues! So proud and happy.

My initial intention was first a therapy for me, putting it down on paper and turning the page on my painful past.

And then, sharing my experience became so obvious even before I started writing the book, hence the creation of this blog.

People say I look younger and younger every year. I agree!!
To be genuinely happy by loving me deeply is certainly the main reason.

No doubt being married to myself has impacted my whole life, my environment, my daily habits, I changed my career, I listen to my soul, I follow my dreams and my passion, and yes, peace, harmony and joy are my usual emotions. I love my life!!

JOY, a very special word for me because it’s the meaning of my first name "Laëtitia" and here is an extract from my book "My Solo Wedding in Santorini" which says more about me:

Celebrated on May 30, the Canary Islands come alive on this special occasion to celebrate the anniversary of the first session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands (1983).

I was lucky enough to be able to take part in certain festivities in Las Palmas (on Gran Canaria Island), and in particular the parade with dance and traditional music.

You know how much I like to discover local customs; I’ve already shared the Carnival with you in my article Las Palmas.

This time it's a different register, people are much more dressed, hahaha but it's just as interesting!

I’m fascinated to see that certain cultural customs are not lost, quite the contrary, and that they continue to be transmitted from generation to generation.

My godchildren also had to dress up at school for this event, nothing like to develop curiosity and opening their minds to other cultures.

All ages are represented and they honour their traditions in costumes, women as well as men!

And all this with surprising musicians and instruments…

Obviously, it makes you want to dance and move your body. And it's good for the mood!
​
A real burst of joy and enthusiasm.

But a parade would be nothing without its floats, here they are all pulled by animals like in the old days.

You will notice the fruits and vegetables displayed on the floats, of course those found on the island, and which made it famous, especially at the time of Christopher Columbus (but I’ll talk to you more about them in a future article).

Last year I was talking about publishing my book,  it's now done, in English and French.

Not to mention the fact that I'm a finalist of a British book award, it's really amazing!

The reviews and rating go well beyond my expectations, I’m incredibly touched and proud.

 
Not only did my Solo Wedding in Santorini changed my life, but it also inspires people to change theirs, it's a wonderful reward for me.

But today my book also inspires, I’m talking here about the process itself, the writing phase and the publication.

Many people confided in me, ask me for advice. I give them the courage to take the plunge and express themselves freely with their own voice and to tell their story.

Moreover, several of them will publish their book this year, and in particular one of my American friends!
I’m very proud to witness their liberation.

Being yourself in all its authenticity is the message I’ve been sharing for the past 6 years. And to achieve this, of course: self-love!

For those who follow me for a long time, you know that I always celebrate my solo wedding anniversary.

Well, I was planning to dress up, go out on my own to a nice restaurant, and have cocktails and churros all afternoon, but I caught a cold.

I had some fever last night, and the whole point of my message around self-love and self-marriage is listening to my body, mind, and soul. And today, they were asking for some rest!
​
I’ll definitely have some wine and cake tonight, and I’ll do my celebration out as soon as I’m feeling better.

Nevertheless, thank you everybody for your loving messages! I woke up with many of them and usually people don’t celebrate the wedding anniversary of their friends and family, but somehow you never miss mine!

I’m amazed how my Solo Wedding in Santorini had and still has an impact on people.

I’m happier, wiser, and prouder day after day, none of this would happen without my solo wedding and without you.

Drink for me tonight and/or eat some cake!

However, I now allow myself some well-deserved holidays.

It must be said that last year was very busy, with the publication of my book in English and French.

Every day I wake up proud and amazed by everything that happens to me.
I never thought I’d live all my dreams with so much passion and determination.
Not to mention all the support and love you give me.

I FINALLY realise that many admire my courage to accomplish what I enjoy, and to live the life I want, without societal pressure or other of any kind.

If being an example can change lives, then I accept this challenge with great enthusiasm and humility.

But hey, my creativity also exists through rest, and it's about time I sunbath on a dreamy island!

If you’ve visited Paris, it’s unlikely that you missed this emblematic and absolutely incredible monument, but if you don’t know it, then follow me, you won’t be disappointed…

Located on the Ile de la Cité in Paris, next to the Conciergerie, where Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned, the Sainte-Chapelle or Sainte-Chapelle du Palais, as it was originally part of a palace, was built between 1241 and 1248 at the request of Saint Louis.

Abandoning the Romanesque bell tower for a remarkable Gothic spire with an openwork structure covered in lead, this chapel has fascinated since the Middle Ages, however it has had to be renovated several times over time.

Moreover, destroyed at the time of the Revolution (1793), it was rebuilt in 1856 under Louis-Philippe, this is this version that we still admire today.

At a height of 75m (246ft) from the ground, the spire weighs 232 tons (including 64 tons of lead).
Today, this is the only surviving medieval spire along with that of Amiens Cathedral.

But if I chose this monument this week, it’s for a very particular reason.

Until the Revolution, the Sainte-Chapelle housed several Passion relics, including the Holy Crown of Thorns and a piece of the True Cross.

Hence a flamboyant richness in its decoration, with great reinforcements of colours, gilding, and the use of all arts and crafts.
​
With a height of twice its width (20.5m high, 10.7m wide, 33m long), one is immediately dazzled by its elegance and grandeur.

The absence of walls voluntarily chosen by the architect, allows the 15 glass walls of 15m height (49ft) to run the show.

With 615m2 of windows, 1113 small scenes tell the Old and the New Testament, from Creation to the Apocalypse which is represented on the incredible rose window, but also the history of the world until the arrival of the relics in Paris.

Largely dominated by red and blue, these stained glass windows help to make this chapel very harmonious.

Everything is admirable in these decors, I could spend hours admiring the smallest details of this chapel.
​
This is what attracts visitors so much, even though the relics are no longer there, this monument is one of the most visited in France.

But that's not all, because there’s a second chapel just below.

Called the Lower Chapel, it’s the same size but with a 6m (19ft) ceiling, and it’s nonetheless sumptuous.

Moreover, without the daylight entering, I find the place even more mystical.

I have widely shared my photos and my adventures (list of the articles at the end), but believe me I still have a lot to tell you.

This time I wanted to talk about another island in the Great Barrier Reef: Hamilton Island!
 
(As always, all photos are mine!)

With 1,200 inhabitants, this is the largest inhabited island of the Whitsundays (archipelago of islands), the infrastructures are therefore more developed, unlike very small islands such as Heron Island (read article again).

It’s located 887 km (551 mi) north of Brisbane and 512 km (318 mi) south of Cairns.

Also easy to access because it has an airport, this island is very popular all year round.

That’s also how I got there, and we already have a good feeling of vacation!!

And then I take possession of my apartments, an apartment in this case and I discover a breathtaking view...

Heaven on earth exists, and right now, I’d like to live here forever.

Follow me! I take you for a little walk, especially since the island is perfect for that, since private cars are not allowed on the island!

As a result, it’s very calm, you can hear the surrounding nature, the vegetation is very present.

Sometimes we come across small golf carts, which can circulate.
​
Be clear, Hamilton is a rich island where you can find luxury residences and yachts.
But also, beautiful shops and restaurants, mainly centralised around the marina.

Besides, let's have lunch at the beach after this pretty walk, we’ll have the opportunity to take a nap afterwards and swim.

Relaxing and enjoying is the goal of successful holidays, isn't it?

Either way, it's mine!

For those who don’t like lazing on a white sandy beach, the island is famous for its many trails, so you can walk through its forest and discover many species of trees and shrubs, but also birds.

You’ll see in the pics, a kookaburra and a white parrot, emblematic of the island.

Obviously, all these efforts are not in vain when you discover the incredible view from the top.

You can also venture out and enjoy a completely deserted cove.

To be honest, I’ve only met a few people, which really gives us the impression of being alone with nature, a real moment of serenity.

Another activity and one of my favourites: the boat!

From Hamilton you can easily visit the Great Barrier Reef but above all you have access to Whitehaven beach, one of the most famous beaches in Australia, and also Hill Inlet (read my article again).

Diving, snorkelling, and fishing, here we go…

Impossible to get bored on this island.

With such busy days, we have to end up the day with some drinks!

But this time let's take the free island bus to take us to the heights of the island, which gives the opportunity to have another viewpoint.

Atmosphere assured with an improvised bar and many people who come here to meet and especially for the sunset!

Honestly a great idea, and definitely something to replicate elsewhere.

And no, I don't mind travelling alone, or eating out alone (or with a bird).

Being single, and in my case married to myself - although my Solo Wedding in Santorini came a few years after that trip - doesn't mean moping around at home!

I talked about it in my article Single.

Well, I must admit that Hamilton was a little more complicated than my other trips, because the restaurants did not accept one person per table. Incredible but true.
Fortunately, some places made an exception, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

And yes, I always make myself pretty when I invite me to the restaurant!

I give her today my gratitude, my forgiveness, and my unconditional love.

Let’s be kind and compassionate with our past versions of ourselves, and let’s embrace our true fabulous selves!

My book My Solo Wedding in Santorini is a FINALIST for an independant book award in the UK, the Wishing Shelf Book Awards!

So proud, excited and moved too.

A year ago, I decided to self-publish after 115 literary agents rejected my book, quite honestly I had no idea that I could receive any award one day.

Once again, I show you how important it is to believe in your dreams and never give up.

But this one is very personal…

And there you wonder what a Parisian cemetery has to do with me.

After the breakup and before my Solo Wedding in Santorini, I spent a week in Vietnam, I talk about this trip in my book.

Reconnecting with my roots and learning more about my history is important to me. We can’t know ourselves and project ourselves into the future without being aware of our past.

"Nguyễn" my family name, which is of Vietnamese origin, is the name of a dynasty that reigned in Vietnam from 1802 to 1945.

The last emperor Bảo Đại had to abdicate in 1945 against the communists and the Vietminh party.

Born Prince Nguyễn Phúc Vĩnh Thụy in the city of Hue in 1913, he went into exile in France in the 1950s - and now you are beginning to understand - died in the Val-de-Grâce military hospital in Paris in 1997, and he’s buried in the Passy cemetery in Paris!
I’ll tell you more about the history of this dynasty in a future article.

In the meantime, I must say that he has chosen a beautiful place, on the hill, overlooking the Seine and Chaillot Palace.

And above all, a view on the Eiffel Tower!!

There are many cemeteries in Paris, and as many legends are buried there.

That of Passy is certainly no exception to the rule.
Édouard Manet, Tristan Bernard, Claude Debussy, Fernandel, the Givenchy family, Pasteur…

It's not always easy to find specific tombs in this maze, but sometimes it's more fun to discover them by chance...

In winter, the place is solemn, peaceful but not morbid, especially when the blue sky is there.

It's like going to a museum, you find art, architecture, and history.
​
All these great names, characters and for sure incredible adventures that could be told by these deceased...

You know me well enough now to know that this is my way of life!

And no sooner have I accomplished a dream, a project, than I already invent new ones and set off on an adventure.

2022 has been special on so many levels and I thank you again for your support, love and loyalty, being able to share all these achievements with you is my greatest achievement!

Although I’ve published little on the blog this year, we’re still talking about 28 articles (complete list and access at the end of this article).

I made you travel again, discover many exhibitions, share my experiences.

More and more people following me from all over the world: Greece, the US, the UK, France, Australia, India, Nigeria…

My book "My Solo Wedding in Santorini: or How I Saved My Life" has won your favour on my social media and in the top 10 of your favourite posts, there are 4 about it!

However, the others that made you dream concern Santorini, Heron Island in Australia, the musical Frozen in London and the exhibition Thierry Mugler, as well as Yves Saint Laurent exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

In addition, this week I received messages telling me that Santa had placed several of my books under the tree. I’m so happy.

But I also helped him since I donated one of my books in French to a free street library in France.

I thought this would be a nice Christmas present for someone who needed to hear my message, because I believe in the Laws of the Universe, and that everyone gets the answer they need at the exact moment they need it.

I went back a week later, and my book was gone!

This makes me so happy ,and I’m confident that this action produced a ripple effect...

My greatest joy in 2022 was to have been chosen to be in the video presentation of the Global Joy Summit in which the Dalai Lama is an integral part.

Being able to actively contribute to sharing the values and teaching of His Holiness is an immense privilege, and I hope to do even more in 2023!

And of course, you wonder what I do for the holidays.

My life is always very original, I rarely do things like everyone else, and I'm certainly not going to break that rule again.

And for some reason beyond my control, I'm going to celebrate Christmas a total of 5 times.
And yes, when your family can't be there at the same time, we have even more fun!!

It’s true that I often travel in December, as my previous articles attest:

And although initially I wanted to travel, this year has been particularly busy for me – especially with the release of my book in 2 different languages "My Solo Wedding in Santorini" - so I wanted to rest with the irresistible desire to watch TV all day under the duvet, eating chocolate!

To tell the truth, it lasted less than half a day, since this is in these moments of pause that creativity calls me, and in this case, I’m talking about my 2nd book in progress.

In any case, it’s important to rest, to take care of yourself despite all the people you’re going to see in a very short time.

And the universe takes good care of me since the circumstances mean that I’ll be alone on Christmas Eve, I’m going to wait for Santa in my pyjamas, pure happiness!

Last year, I was sick and lying in the guest room because of the 3rd dose of vaccine. Fortunately, the years follow each other and are not alike...

This year I also realised a lifelong dream, having a tree in my bedroom!

To tell the truth, I haven't had a tree since 2016, traveling a lot, and although I lived almost a year in Crete, I hadn't bothered to have one even if that had crossed my mind.

As I spend my days working in my bedroom, it creates a very festive atmosphere.
​
And I can hug a tree when I get up in the morning, I love it!
